"Crested Butte Landscapes in Black & White"

On Display: February 6 - March 6
Artist Reception: Friday February 17, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Caroline McLean shows her striking black and white photos from around Crested Butte.  She plays with light and dances with shadow, using the camera as a segue to awakening the creative spirit.

Photography is a practice and a journey.  The practice involves learning to see, artistry, camera skills, repetition, time and daily contemplative exercises. My journey is looking inward, connecting to personal truths and learning how to communicate messages through a visual vocabulary.  Strong images show up when I am connected.  Nature is a dominant companion and theme in my work.  I work with light and shadow, black and white.  I practice being fully awake, aware and receptive. Storytelling, resonance and exploring an emotional and visual vocabulary are new themes along my path. I also teach contemplative nature photography and help people connect to their inner creativity.
