A timeless and classic folk singer, Amy Speace applies her rich and lovely voice to luminously smart songs. In this special benefit concert for the Center, Amy comes together with Nashville musical colleagues the Wild Ponies and Kira Small for an Evening in the Round of soaring vocals tinged with gospel, soul and country. As one of the most heralded singer-songwriters today, Amy has fast become one of the leading voices of the new generation of folk singers. She worked for over a decade under the radar of the mainstream music industry before a chance meeting with legend Judy Collins changed the direction of her life. She joined Judy on tour, subsequently recording her song “The Weight of the World.” Through five acclaimed albums, Amy has appeared at Music City Roots and Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, among others, been featured on NPR’s All Things Considered and Mountain Stage, as well as performed with other singer-songwriters greats such as Nanci Griffith and had songs recorded by Red Molly.
