Capturing Paradise

Kimbre Woods

As an experimental photographer who tosses aside convention to work with alternative and historic processes, Kimbre transforms her subject matter into something more meaningful and thought provoking. Whether it’s a mountain scene or butterfly, each image is an example of this experimentation. The show features two of her favorite processes - cyanotype, the monochromatic blue photographic process; and Tri-Color Gum Bichromates, the first ever color photographic process. “Capturing Paradise” is a celebration of Kimbre’s ten years in Crested Butte, and a meditation on the progression of her work and all of her epiphanies as an emergent artist.
