The Crested Butte Dance Collective is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Crested Butte School of Dance effective earlier this month. Effective immediately, the School of Dance will serve as the 501C3 fiscal sponsor of the Dance Collective and all of its programs including aerial programming and the Move the Butte and Fall community productions.

For the past six years, the Center for the Arts has served as the fiscal sponsor of the Dance Collective. During that time the aerial dance program has grown to over 300 students annually and the cast of Move the Butte has increased in participation by over 70 dancers and 4 sold out shows. "The CB Dance Collective grew exponentially over the past 6 years because of the incredible support and dedication of the Center for the Arts staff and board of directors. We are so grateful for our awesome working relationship with the Center as we all move forward with the new building, remarked KT Folz, Founder of the Crested Butte Dance Collective.

"The Center for the Arts has been truly honored to be the fiscal sponsor of the Crested Butte Dance Collective for so many years. Community dance is integral to Crested Butte and the new partnership with the School of Dance will allow for better coordination and development of future dance opportunities for our community." said Jenny Birnie, Executive Director for the Center for the Arts.

The partnership between all three organizations includes extensive planning for the new Center for the Arts which will house a dedicated aerial dance facility and several additional dance/performance studios to support the incredible growth of the School of Dance. "Aerial dance has grown beyond our expectations and the need for suitable spaces is vital to the continued success of the Dance Collective," added Folz.
