About Chris Miller

Chris Miller grew up in the maritime town of Annapolis, Maryland.  His greatest influence is his mother, Jennifer, who painted seascapes with Oil, Acrylic, and Watercolor. His second influence was his grandfather who worked in a camera mart in Baltimore and always handed Chris down 35 mm cameras. His cousin, who Chris looked up to, moved to Colorado from Oklahoma in the 1990s which inspired his interest in moving West.  Chris graduated from CU Boulder in 2005 with a degree in Fine Arts.  While his preferred medium was Oil paints his adventures in the mountains of Colorado brought him over to Photography.  Chris moved to Crested Butte in 2009 and has worked as professional photographer for the CB News, Adaptive sports, Mountain Flyer Magazine, The Elk Mountain Grand Traverse, Irwin, and has shot many events throughout the valley. Chris currently works as a full time carpenter for Crested Butte Builders and still climbs and shoots mountains with every bit of spare time that he has.
