THIS EVENING PROVIDES A RARE OPPORTUNITY to visit five spectacular homes! Spend time on the spacious outdoor decks taking in the forever views of Axtel, Whetstone, Mt Emmons and the Gunnison National Forest where the wildflowers change weekly.
The evening will begin with appetizers and drinks on the expansive deck of Don and Teresa Guzzetta’s “Bella Vista” home. Inside you will see soaring ceilings, a twenty-inch stone fireplace wall and original oil paintings by the owner, Dr. Guzzetta. Their entry way is defined by custom twig and leaf motif ironwork also designed by the homeowner. The hammered copper fronts, curved kitchen bar area and iron banding were all designed by a local artisan.
During your visit, you will have the opportunity to learn about the pairings of the wine with dinner by wine expert Naomi Smith from Grand River Wineries in Grand Junction. Groups of eight to ten will then be escorted to one of the four other homes. Guests will enjoy to a sit down dinner and desserts prepared within the Colorado theme by Chef Jonathan Coady.
All five homes have beautiful decks, vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows that provide guests and homeowners with ultimate valley views. Their modern kitchens are open with natural light highlighting the woodwork, cabinetry and natural stone. The journey through each home will make for a fun adventure as you appreciate seeing a wide selection of interesting artwork and custom made furniture. These warm and inviting homes will surely provide guests with a cozy and relaxing evening of dining and socializing.
The 5-Star resort environment of Phoenix and Scottsdale, AZ with training in classical French cuisine ignited Chef Jonathan’s interest in gastronomic pursuits. Jon’s culinary resume expanded to the “On Fire” innovative and creative southwestern culinary scene of Santé Fe, NM, where he earned high accolades and a gold medal in an American Culinary Federation competition. His journey then brought him to Crested Butte Mountain Resort as Executive Chef with two local Iron Chef wins and 2005 “Chef of the Year” finalist in the ACF Colorado Chef’s Association competition.
Jon is currently the general manager of Sodexo, directing all restaurants and catering operations at Western State College in Gunnison. Guests will want to discuss with him the new facilities-Rare Air Café, Mad Jack’s Grill, and the ballroom- that Western’s Student Center has made available for the community. Chef Jon Coady will delight you with his poetic license in creating a showcase evening of dining using Colorado Wild Game and Gunnison Valley Farmer’s market produce and dairy.
