Paddle to Seattle
Friday, August 6, 8:00 PM

"Paddle to Seattle" Makes its Crested Butte Debut at the Center.

"Paddle to Seattle" follows JJ Kelley and Josh Thomas as they build their own kayaks and prepare themselves for the adventure of a lifetime: paddling the 1,300 mile Inside Passage from Alaska to Seattle. After 97 days they live to talk about it. Join the first screening in Crested Butte of a movie National Geographic claims is "A film full of adventure…Beautiful!" Michael Moore was so intrigued by the documentary he emailed the filmmakers asking to purchase a copy of the movie so he could see what the hype was about.

"Paddle to Seattle" won the Audience Choice category for the Anchorage Film Festival, the Sedona International Film Festival, Port Townsend Film Festival and Tallahassee Film Festival, was the Official Selection of the Durango Film Festival, the Santa Cruz Film Festival and the Wisconsin Film Festival. The documentary has been featured in National Geographic Traveler and Outside Magazine’s online blog. Seattle Times calls it "Laugh out-loud hilarious!"

What we’re getting at here is that this film is not to be missed. A fun, fast-paced, humorous account of a trying and adventurous journey.

Doors open at 7:30 PM.
