Over three weeks, explore the possibilities of watercolor painting on YUPO, a unique synthetic paper that is slick and non-absorbent. Unlike traditional watercolor paper, YUPO can be worked and reworked multiple times, making it the perfect substance for beginning and advanced artists. The "slick" properties of YUPO allow the colors to remain bright and vibrant and to flow and blend differently than on traditional watercolor paper. YUPO lends itself well to vibrant compositions, abstraction, and intuitive painting, especially since the paint can be easily removed. Class focuses on technique, composition, color use, and helping students develop or expand upon their existing style through exploration. The watercolors used are the same as in traditional watercolor. All materials are supplied for this series, and students will take away their own original works.
