More on Yupo: Yupo is a synthetic watercolor paper that is 100% polypropylene. It is slick and shiny. It does not react as other watercolor papers since the paint does not soak into the paper. Paint floats on the surface and moves freely allowing colors to blend. Often a marbleized pattern is formed by tilting the paper and letting colors create a new pattern, making for a fun and forgiving process. Paint can be lifted with the stroke of a clean water brush. There are no mistakes as you can easily remove paint and experimentation is key to a successful Yupo painting.
