In unison it is almost unrecognizable who’s who\, and in harmony\, an effortless blend that welcomes the exhale. Their uplifting sound and intimate storytelling weave love anthems in and out of their messages\, with simple yet important reminders that we’re not alone. \nTheir ethereal harmonies\, musical warmth\, and meaningful lyrics find inspiration in the beauty of the outdoors and the threads that weave us together as humans. Though their roots lie in the singer-songwriter realm\, their music is intentionally genre-fluid\, allowing them to adapt their sound to a wide range of audiences\, settings\, and collaborations. \nFormed in 2018\, LVDY has played hundreds of shows across the U.S. & Europe—self-funded\, self-built\, and community-powered. After returning to the U.S.\, they continued playing on front porches and in the homes of friends and family\, turning late-night kitchen jams into the spark of their original music. \nLVDY’s debut EP\, Electricity\, was produced by Dreamers Delight and released in February 2019. That year\, the duo was named Best Folk Band/Artist by Denver’s 303 Magazine\, marking the beginning of their full-time music career. SUMMARY:CO West Ballet Presents The Firebird & Original Modern Works
DESCRIPTION:For one night only\, Colorado West Ballet will present a two-act evening featuring both traditional story ballet and contemporary ballet. \nFirebird is a one act ballet composed by Igor Stravinsky. The ballet tells the story of Prince Ivan\, who captures the magical Firebird but chooses to spare her life. In return\, she helps him defeat the evil sorcerer Kastchei and free the captive princesses. \nOriginal Modern Works from CRM season IV will complete your evening for Act 2. Original choreography set to music by Yannick Lowack\, Antonio Vivaldi\, Evolving Sound and Hendyamps Studios\, Luca D’Alberto and Trio Pathetique in D Minor by Mikhail Glinka shows the diversity of ballet as a whole as well as the dancers at CO West Ballet. Choreography that leaves audiences in awe\, wonder and delight makes this act unforgettable. \nAll performances are approximately two hours with a 20 minute intermission. Opportunities for photos and to meet the cast follow each performance at no additional cost to our community. \nColorado West Ballet (formerly CO West Performing Arts Company) is a 501(c)3 company established in 2022 to bring more professional performing arts to Western CO and surrounding rural communities. SUMMARY:Bodhi and the Rainforest
DESCRIPTION:Local artist and creative Suzanne Pierson\, in partnership with The Center\, brings Bodhi and the Rainforest to the Steddy Theater this August! Written and composed by Suzanne\, Bodhi and the Rainforest is an environmental children’s musical telling the adventures of a reluctant caterpillar who embarks on a journey to help restore a disappearing rainforest. Along the way\, the caterpillar encounters colorful creatures\, overcomes challenges\, and discovers an inner strength that leads to a remarkable transformation. Featuring music\, dance\, vibrant characters\, and a cast of local young performers\, this uplifting production celebrates courage\, growth\, and the importance of caring for the natural world. \nBodhi and the Rainforest premiered at the former Houston Fine Arts Center in Denver in 1990\, and received the United Nations Environment Program International Prize: Kids for Saving the Earth. It was also picked up by the Smithsonian Institute for 13 performances at the Denver Museum of Natural Science and History. Suzanne was recognized in 1991 by then-Governor Roy Romer with the Governor’s Prize for Excellence in Education. \nSuzanne\, actor/director Mary Tuck\, local professionals Angela Carroll\, Andrea Pepitone\, and Neil Windsor\, and the Crested Butte Center for the Arts bring this magical production alive in a full theater experience! \nWe encourage the audience to wear rainforest creature costumes. Most of all\, she is a credit to her ancestors and an integral support to Indigenous creatives all over North America. DESCRIPTION:Sold Out\nSteve Earle is one of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters of his generation. A protégé of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark\, he quickly became a master storyteller in his own right\, with his songs recorded by Johnny Cash\, Waylon Jennings\, Joan Baez\, Emmylou Harris\, The Pretenders\, and countless others. \nIn 1986\, he released Guitar Town\, which shot to No. 1 on the country charts and is now regarded as a classic of the Americana genre. Most recently\, Earle’s 1988 hit “Copperhead Road” was made an official state song of Tennessee in 2023. \nSubsequent releases\, including The Revolution Starts…Now (2004)\, Washington Square Serenade (2007)\, and TOWNES (2009)\, received consecutive GRAMMY® Awards. Released in 2022\, Jerry Jeff features Earle’s interpretations of songs written by one of his mentors\, Jerry Jeff Walker. \nOpener: Channing Wilson \nFrom a small town in Northwest Georgia\, Channing learned about real life American good times and hardships. He’s not afraid to tell you about it either. From his songs like “Poor Man’s Cocaine” referring to methamphetamines taking over rural America\, to songs like “Black Jesus” which is a story of two men\, one young\, and one older\, finding friendship in spite of the racial stereotypes of the times. Channing’s voice and songwriting is widely considered in the top echelon of the “who’s who” in the Nashville community.

Even if you think you don’t know anything about opera\, you have almost certainly heard many of the most famous operatic arias\, duets\, and themes that have been used to promote dozens of products in television advertising. Now is your chance to enjoy hearing them performed by some glorious Colorado singers\, accompanied by a fabulous little orchestra. \nThe concert is called “Opera Lollipops\,” and you will have a unique opportunity to hear many of these familiar tunes on Saturday\, August 1\, at the Center for the Arts in Crested Butte.
