Hank Azaria & The EZ Street Band

Hank Azaria & The EZ Street Band is a true labor of love for Azaria, a lifelong Bruce Springsteen fan. “I’ve never worked harder preparing for any role than I did in perfecting a singing vocal impression of Bruce,” Azaria says.

Best known as an Emmy-winning actor and voice artist on The Simpsons, Azaria now brings his talents to the stage in a totally new way—leading a high-energy Springsteen tribute concert. Months of vocal training and character work went into developing a performance that captures Bruce’s distinctive cadence, energy, and presence.

As he told Rolling Stone, “I think of it as a theatrical performance. I’m staying in character as Bruce—even though I’m telling stories about myself. It’s a performance piece, but I’m not a Bruce impersonator.”

The Show
The result is a joyful, full-tilt rock ‘n’ roll event. Azaria’s physicality and storytelling channel the essence of Springsteen—intimate, irreverent, and deeply connected to the band and the audience. The show is equal parts concert and character study, bringing Bruce’s spirit to life while using his voice to tell Azaria’s own story.

Dylan Roth of Observer praised the band’s sold-out debut at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City, calling it “a lively and heartfelt 80-minute celebration—not just of Springsteen’s music, but of the impact it has had on Azaria’s life.”

The Band
Members of The EZ Street Band have performed with artists such as Ariana Grande, Post Malone, Lil Nas X, St. Lucia, Josh Groban, Cynthia Erivo, and blackbear. Collectively, they’ve opened for Modest Mouse, Lake Street Dive, Carly Rae Jepsen, Charlie Puth, and more, and have appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Good Morning America, and NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts. Their credits also include Coachella, Bonnaroo, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen, and compositions for The Voice, The Expanse, HBO, ESPN, and beyond.

The Origin
The idea began as a surprise for Azaria’s 60th birthday. “I had the crazy idea to sing a few Springsteen songs at my party,” he recalls. He reached out to his son’s former piano teacher, Adam Kromelow, who helped assemble a band.

Though mimicking Bruce’s speaking voice came naturally—“that’s my day job!”—Azaria spent months obsessively working on the singing voice. “I practiced every day for six months. Eventually, something unlocked. I kind of couldn’t believe how Bruce-like it sounded.”

A Performance With Purpose
All net proceeds from Hank Azaria & The EZ Street Band benefit The Four Through Nine Foundation, which Azaria founded to support social justice, education, and recovery causes. “I can’t think of a better way to spend my time,” Azaria says, “than playing songs I love for a crowd that loves them too—and raising money for people who need it.”
