Scott Palmer

Scott received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon, his Master’s degree from Oregon State University, and studied for his PhD in Contemporary Theatre Practice at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Scott is the founder of Glasgow Repertory Company (Scotland’s only Shakespeare-dedicated theatre company) and Bag&Baggage Productions/The vault, a professional theatre and performing arts venue based in the Portland, Oregon suburbs. Most recently, Scott was one of three executive leaders of the Sun Valley Museum of Art in Sun Valley, Idaho. Scott has more than 20 years’ experience in artistic and executive leadership in nonprofit arts and culture institutions in Scotland, New Zealand, Oregon, and Idaho. In addition to his work as an executive arts leader, Scott has also worked in cultural policy, cultural advocacy, capital campaign fundraising, and social justice/equity work in the performing arts. Born in Hillsboro, Oregon, Scott is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, the National Theatre Conference and the Theatre Communications Group. Scott and his husband Brian (a freelance writer), and their dog Mac, are thrilled to call Crested Butte home.
