BOZAR increased the Center for the Arts building capacity for a trial period of one year starting on August 29, 2023, with the agreement that the Center would manage parking in the adjacent neighborhoods during large Center events. Over the trial period, an average of 62% of large event attendees walked, biked, or rode public transit to events and no parking tickets were issued. BOZAR renewed the capacity increase for another trial year on August 27, 2024.
Per Town of Crested Butte regulations, parking in adjacent neighborhoods for large Center events is restricted as follows:
Please note: Parking for large events on Seventh Street between Red Lady and Sopris Avenues is allowed but discouraged. Non-resident cars parked in this area are not subject to parking restrictions.
We are excited to welcome more people into the Center for community events and are dedicated to ensuring this increase in capacity doesn’t mean additional parking inconveniences for you. As required by the Town of Crested Butte, we will place “resident only” parking signs in your neighborhood by 2:00 pm on large event dates and hire Interstate Parking Company to enforce the parking regulations in your neighborhood during the event.
Resident and Visitor Parking Registration
Please click here to register the license plates of your vehicle(s) and those of any visitors. Registered license plates will not be ticketed during large events. Should you receive a citation in error, please contact parkcrestedbutte@interstateparking.com.
More information on the Town of Crested Butte’s permit parking program can be found here.
Other Events
The Town of Crested Butte only requires parking to be monitored in your neighborhood during large events (listed below). For all smaller events, we take measures to strongly encourage attendees to park at the Four-Way or CBCS lot. However, parking is not restricted during these events and members of the general public may park legally in the town right-of-way.
Please note that Alpenglow is operated under a Special Event Permit from the Town of Crested Butte and is not subject to enforcement of parking restrictions.
