The Center is the premier visual and performing arts venue on the Western Slope. Its iconic modern architecture, 31,000 square feet of multi-use spaces, and prime location in downtown Crested Butte make the Center an ideal location for all kinds of events, from classes and meetings to retreats, conferences, performances, celebrations, and more.
The Center is LEED-certified and features an efficient HVAC system to keep rooms at the perfect temperature. High-tech A/V systems are built into nearly every space in the building, and the Steddy Theater is acoustically tuned for any type of music or show. Plus, the building is fully ADA accessible, with an elevator that accesses all three floors.

The Center for the Arts believes in making space for community. Through our new Open Doors Program, local individuals and groups can host free, community-driven events, workshops, and gatherings-at no cost.

Steddy TheaterThe Steddy Theater meets performance standards for a full symphony orchestra, and when needed, a section of the dance floor directly in front of the stage area can be lowered 4-feet, revealing an orchestra pit that can also serve as a dance pit.

The Grace Atrium is a multi-function space featuring a large bar and floor to ceiling windows. Thus space may also be utilized as a demonstration kitchen for culinary classes.

The Kinder Padon Gallery is a museum quality space for celebrating the visual arts. This space also transitions to a patio terrace for receptions and cocktail parties.

The Alpenglow Stage can accommodate a maximum of 45 people standing (fewer with chairs and tables). Any use of the Outdoor Stage that includes Town Park (e.g. the soccer fields) requires a separate reservation and permit via the Town of Crested Butte. Corporations and nonprofit organizations alike should consider the Center for their next boardroom meeting or development day. The King Community Room and Hawk Visual Arts Classroom offer gorgeous views and state of the art technology.

King Community RoomThe King Community room is perfect for your next meeting or workshop. Featuring a large 75″ flatscreen tv and audio system – this space is a breath of fresh air offering great mountain views.

Jones Performance HallThe Jones Performance Hall is a multipurpose space featuring sprung floors as well as beams allowing for multiple aerial dance rigging points for performances, rehearsal and classes. There is also a light grid and sound infrastructure in place making it a great space for other types of performances from intimate instrumentals to vocal to literary readings.

The perfect space for dance and fitness classes as well as small performances. Featuring 8′ tall mirrors and freestanding barres – the perfect place to learn to ballet! Or for larger catered events – use Schaul as a catering staging area.
