YAN-KA-DY: An African Arts theater extravaganza
Yankady in the language of Susu from Guinea, West Africa means “here is good.” Fara Tolno, director, choreographer, and visionary of the theater performance has orchestrated a night of music, dance, acrobatics, and more with the exciting and dynamic rhythms and movements of Guinea. Set with the intention of celebrating, he states “despite all that is happening, we have each other, and that is why here is good.” Doors and bar open at 6:30, come early to learn more about the Kissidugu school of Music, Dance and Education in Guinea, West Africa and local youth and adult programming. Theater show at 7:30. Prior to the show, artists will be teaching classes for all ages and abilities in the Gunnison Valley from March 6th-17th.
