The Center is proud to be a home for visual artists of all mediums and typically hosts dozens of visual arts classes each season, including the popular Watercolor and Wine + Cocktails and Canvases series.

Community visual arts events include the Community Iron Pour (usually held in early October) and Chalk Walk (usually held in early July). In 2019, nearly 2,500 artists participated in 213 individual visual arts events.

That's a lot of art! For more information on the Visual Arts program, please contact Melissa Mason, Associate Director, at melissa@crestedbuttearts.org.

town of crested butte call for artists: big belly solar compacting trash/recycling bin artwork

The Town of Crested Butte is requesting proposals from local creative individuals for the design of one-of-a-kind graphic art to be used as wraps for 24 new Big Belly trash & recycling units that will be placed around Crested Butte.

The design may include photography, graphic art, or any two-dimensional art that can be digitized. The Town and selected artist will work with Fastsigns, Big Belly’s partner wrap manufacturer, who will create the wraps to be sent to Big Belly to be installed prior to shipment of the units.

The Town of Crested Butte Public Art Commission is soliciting multiple artists with different design concepts. Artists may submit multiple design concepts to be considered. The Commission is seeking artwork that will enhance the Town’s creative and historic district. This project is a component of the Town of Crested Butte’s Arts in Public Places Policy.
